What is a short sale and is there any different between a short sale and a normal listed property?

When they list such a property, they will market it as short sale, because banks do not get back all their money they lend out. Is it a good deal to buy short sales for buyers? Your real estate broker and professional appraisals know. Just because the bank had a loss on the property does not mean the property will appraise to the listed price. People who rush to buy something, just because the bank made an error and lent too much money for a property to somebody who is not capable of paying back, put the carriage before the horse. You should not be manipulated by the word short sale. You have to think value. If the same house was sold recently at substantial higher price in the same neighborhood, then it might be some reason to get excited. But you have to make your investigation. Call your trusted Real Estate Broker and ask him to tell you how much he think the property is worth. Then make him to write an offer if he thinks the price is at least 5% below market. You see unfortunately people who default of their obligation are also less concern to take care of their property. Some part of the money you might save might goes toward repair and maintenance.
